Spinel is found in many different colours, with red spinel possibly being the most famous. This beautiful gem has often been confused with ruby throughout history with the most famous example being that of the Black Prince ruby, which is set in the Imperial State Crown in the Tower Of London. Other colours include blue, purple, pink and grey.

Synthetic spinel has been used as a simulant for other stones including diamonds, but please note that our spinels are natural.

We recommend cleaning your spinel jewellery with a mild soapy solution and a soft brush (we use an electric toothbrush), and drying with a soft cloth.
