Tourmaline is a fascinating gemstone, which is found in long crystals.
It can be found in shades of green, red, blue and teal; and sometimes several of these colours in one stone. The different colours of tourmaline each have different names: red tourmaline is known as rubellite, blue is indicolite, bright electric blue-green is known as Paraiba, and tourmaline displaying red and green are known as watermelon tourmalines.
Tourmaline is a hard-wearing gemstone, making it perfect for rings and all other kinds of jewellery. As with all gemstones, we recommend avoiding knocks and abrasion. Cleaning of your tourmaline can be done with a mild soapy solution and a soft brush.
