Tourmaline can be found in shades of green, red, blue and teal (amongst others); and sometimes several of these colours in one stone. The different colours of tourmaline each have different names: red tourmaline is known as rubellite, blue is indicolite, bright electric blue-green is known as Paraiba, and tourmaline displaying red and green is known as watermelon tourmaline.
Tourmaline is a hard-wearing gemstone, making it perfect for rings and all other kinds of jewellery. As with all gemstones, we recommend avoiding knocks and abrasion. Cleaning of your tourmaline can be done with a mild soapy solution and a soft brush.
