Job Title: Online Content Assistant/Retail Consultant

Type: Full-time (average 36 hours per week), permanent.

Location: T. Paterson Jeweller, 33-37 High Street, Perth PH1 5TJ.

Responsible to: Claire Merson, Manager.

Position Overview                                                                                                                                 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and conscientious team member with a passion for fine jewellery. This is a full-time, permanent position. The working hours may vary slightly from week to week, but include working Monday – Saturday, with days off. Some Sundays will be required in the festive period. Our normal work hours are from 8:40am until approximately 5:30pm.

This role will require you to assist with our online content, including our website and social media. On the retail side, you will be required to assist customers with their enquiries and purchases, as well as maintaining the workspace and goods for sale.

T. Paterson Jeweller is a busy, family-run jeweller's on Perth’s High Street, and was founded in 1832. Job Description & Person Specification                                                                                            

Main Duties:

  • Assist with taking and editing photographs

We are passionate about taking accurate, high-quality photographs of our jewellery to use on our website and social media. Training will be given to correctly use our cameras, studio equipment and editing software.

  • Uploading items for sale onto our website

We will provide training to allow you to confidently and accurately maintain stock for sale on our website, along with other web content.

  • Social media

Social media is very important to us and is a fantastic way for us to appeal to new and existing customers. As such, you will be required to assist with posts on our social media accounts, and regularly engage with our followers on different platforms.

  • Meet and greet customers

We pride ourselves in offering excellent customer service and a warm atmosphere in our shop. First impressions count!

  • Assist customers with their enquiries and purchases, both instore and online.

You will be able to assist customers with any questions regarding our jewellery manufacturing, repairs, company, or items for sale. This may include the use of a computer/laptop/tablet or telephone calls to suppliers and customers. Training will also be given to accurately handle sales and repair enquiries.

  • Administrative tasks

You will be IT literate and be confident using technology. You will also be responsible for handling cash, processing refunds, handling emails and similar administrative tasks.

  • A passion for jewellery or experience in jewellery sales/manufacturing
  • Strong IT skills and social media knowledge
  • Knowledge of sales techniques or customer service training

This role is varied but you will be supported and encouraged by our friendly team. It will at times require duties which are not listed above, as per the needs of the business.
